DRIVER SEAT STUCK!
« on: 23 July 2009, 20:26:34 »

Hi all, since i first had a mini(a 1970's cooper s, not the sh*t ones on sale at the mo), i never had a car with so many problems and still love it to bits, now on to the problem in hand, i got an electric adjustable seat that get's stuck halfway, meaning, doesn't get close to the steering wheel. Anyone came across this ? i had a look under the seat but nothing seemed diferent to me. Thanks guys.

look down the left side, by the seatbelt stalk. There is a gap in the top runner, between the seatbelt stalk and the seat. It is not unknown for coins to drop down there and jam.  Can sometimes be remove with one of those spring grip thingies (me) or a long screwdriver and a hammer (someone else), if you can see the obstruction. You may have to look along the rail from either the front or rear ..

My seat was stuck near the very back with a 10 pence piece that was trapped right at the back of the runner (near the seat belt anchor point) It's not uncommon ........

i have just removed £1.10p from my mates passenger seat 10p nearly bent in half had to remove the seat by undoing  the four torx bolts that hold the seat  to  the runner as it was well jammed and the seat wouldnt go far enough forward to get to the bolts at the back that hold the seat runners to the floor
