So nobody thinks a 321bhp BMW M Power engine is the way to go? I bet it would go in pretty easy aswell.

There is a guy in Europe i think with a Lexus V8 in one, saw a pic of it ages back but never did see the finished item.

Using a LS motor your then running on the lines of the Holden Commodore,s so if you can find someone in Oz getting parts wouldn't be a problem

Have you thought of N/O2 kit instead, okay so you'll have to keep having the bottle refilled every now and then or everyday if you go mad with it ?  ::)

Just a thought ?.

Don't forget even with specialist insurance companies, if it's a one-off conversion that hasn't been done before the premuim could be high for the the trouble you've gone to ?!.  Maybe an idea before you go and actually do a conversion, to get a quote before you get your spanners out !.  Otherwise chap you maybe spending half your budget paying someone else for the prevellage of "your" fun.

Not trying to put you off the project, just thought I'd point out another angle of the project !.

We've all been there, tolled away at a project, only to have the insurance companies P155 on our chips !!.

Good luck with your project though.

P.S. there is somewhere on youtube (or used to be) a film of a Omega Lexus powered 4L V8 Turbo'd putting out 1000BHP - More fun than a Bugatti Vyron if you ask me  ::)

Yeah agree a Yank V8 would be nice.

Trouble is these days all modern cars have electronics to control fuel supply, etc.  So it's not like years ago, where you could virtually bolt in a V8 in a weekend and a carb to tweek and timing to set and away you go, which is a pain.

Still saying that, I've decided that once my engine dies a death, I'm ripping out and putting in a V8 of some sort  ::)  ;D  ;D
Old School never dies (engine North South & RWD), as it should be  ;)

Knew someone else would know where this video clip was, I did try finding it, but didn't have any luck.

Yep, and the more you have of one the less you have of the other. :-/ Always the same story.

Consider buying a rear ended write off.  That way you get all the wiring for the plugs/sockets,  pipework and plumbing.  Plus dependong on what you buy you may be able to sell parts towards the conversion.

Should be a few yanks that are danaged kicking arround in the papers. :y :y

I've been boring, I'm going to replace with a normal V6 for now due to time etc

I'm going for the proper gearbox, though,  :y  ;D

I've heard that the Saab turbo engine (as you suggested) bolts straight onto an Omega gearbox, no idea about mounts though. Plus it'd need some bits to change it from FWD to RWD, I'd wager...
