manifold gasket

how difficult is it to change a manifold gasket on 2.0 16v 1998 car.  It sounds not so good for about 20 - 30 seconds upon a cold start.

It's a pretty easy job - the hardest thing about it is that the studs rust, and can often snap - which creates more work. Soak them all well in plus-gas before attempting removal, it can make all the difference.
