warning automatic gearbox
« on: 04 August 2009, 22:04:02 »

Hi i drive a 3litre elite estate & warning automatic gearbox keeps appearing on display screen. i turn off engine & then restart it which always re-sets everything. Seems to happen when driving slowly in traffic, more often at the start of a journey, but rarely while motorway driving. when steadily driving downhill it tends to over rev before kicking down, jolting my back before the inevitable warning appears.
i have had the transmission fluid changed at my local garage, but no better. suggestions please!

Theboy thanks for reply but can this be done at most local garages or does it need one with a tec 2?

You'd need the full beans tech 2 to read the gearbox I'd imagine.

I had this problem. I cleaned out the auto selector switch changed the crank sensor and the maf because the paperclip test showed all these codes.dunno whether this will help or not. hope so.
