So there I am, Homer and I cruising in the sun after a day at work.... Pull up to a set of lights and see a whiff of smoke rising from under the bonnet....white smoke.
So i figure either Homer has chosen a new Pope....or more likely, the coolant is cooking

Not a good place to stop and i'm just a few miles from home, so steadily carry on with heater on max.....but then the Coolant low check comes up on MFD.....Doh!
So i pull into a layby, switch off in neutral, and once the smoke stops pop the bonnet.....no coolant in the header!
Round to the boot, dig out coolant that was in there and start to pour in......hiss! The 15mm dia plastic tee that joins the bottom heater matrix hose to the main coolant supply has a split in it!
Is this a common problem with MiG's or am I just unlucky?
Call the RAC man out to find that they only carry straight pipe joins, so make him drive me to the nearest DIY centre for a 15mm dia copper tee.
We fitted that, but the legs of the tee were short, so RAC man follows me the rest of the way, as he ain't convinced we are gonna make it and starts talking about towing @ 20mph for a max of 10 miles......not with my autobox methinks!
Get home, RAC man says great! lets just check that for leaks, shines a torch down there and it looks good.....till he touches it and pop! matrix hose comes off! soo lucky!
I'd recently dropped the coolant, so am wondering if my new mix had found the weak spot in the system whilst under pressure??
Trip to VX dealer at lunchtime for a new one....assuming they have it in stock
