Black Hair coming out of exhaust

Hi all just wondering why I have a black hair-like material coming out of my tail pipe; is it something to do with the catalytic converters?

I too had the cats tail.....glassfibre wadding out of the backbox.....will get progessively noisier over time......prior to replacement, the longest tail i got on one journey was about 8ft.....see if you can beat it  ;D

You should replace it soon, it could block the exhaust

Funny I thought I had a blow but could never see no leaks at least now I know it's the back box. :y

is the system a known quantity?

When i picked mine up, i thought it may have a blow, but aside from the cats tails, the system was checked and the only explanation was that the system is a cheap pattern, and basically sounds pap :(

Problem is, the centre sections, cats and downpipes are all recent, (still silver, berely changed colour) so until it rots out...... :(

However a new backbox has made a difference  :y

Too true, mine lost all it's power.  I was a bit daft with mine and booted it trying to work out why I was down on power, no idea it was the bacck box at the time.  End result.  It exploded.    :-[ ::)

My neighbour's missus quite liked the sound of hers when it went the same way, that was of course until the box exploded and pierced the fuel tank.

 :o Add one naked flame or spark and that could have been quite spectacular viewing.
