oil in expansion tank
« on: 13 August 2009, 10:24:59 »

The car has started misfiring below 2500 revs not overheating but there is oil in expansion tank, no sludge but oil in spark plug holes again.  We have replaced the rocker cover and gaskets twice last time with genuine vauxhall parts. We are currently on holiday and need to travel 4 hours home can anyone help with what to do?

I would recommend getting the AA or RAC to tow you home if you cant get it fixed by then...defo oil cooler if you have oil in expansion tank...at some point it will start to over heat so dont risk killing your engine :y

It will be the oil cooler. I've got a 2.6 and mine went back in November, fortunately I was only a few miles from home. Have the AA or RAC trailer you home and save on the petrol.
The help guide is very good http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1221081908
