Hi guys,

Cant find anything on my question within the search.

Yr 2000 Omega Elite 3.0 V6 - Is this a Belt or a Chain?

My Elite has done 53000 miles.

What is the guide on mileage for change if its a belt?

All Petrol Omega's are Belt, which should be changed at 40,000 or 4 years, whichever is soonest

hope yours was done, if not get it sorted asap 

Make sure you fit the complete kit, NOT just the belt, as it's the bearings in the idler wheels that tend to fail. Always a good idea to change the water pump as well while the covers are off, but I suggest you go for a genuine GM pump as opposed to pattern, as I experienced a core plug leak in the pattern one I fitted, but you only find this out after you have put everything back together and run it for a few weeks or so
