help tining belt

hi fokes got my timing belt and locking kit and the dvd. must be doing something rong got it lined up on the crank and up round cams 1&2 and the lines on the belt are about 4-5 teeth past the timing marks so gets it all on to see where am i going rong and once it was all on there was far to much play in belt next to the bottom roller it is a gates belt kit and tas yelloy marks to  :y :y

I'm going to have to try this method, out of interest - I personally go the other way, but am sure to leave the required slack between crank and tensioner...

If you go a/clockwise, which side do you use the wedge?  :y

I wouldn't trust James to put all the cam followers back either!  ::)  ::)  ::)  ::) ;D ;D

If you start by putting the wedge in on the left (as your standing at the front) go over the idler (making sure the arrow is at 3 o'clock) first then to Cam 4 pulling the belt as tight as you can get it, then when you get to the tensioner if you have done it properly the belt should just go over the tensioner. :y

The wedge on the left James... I have the Trade Mark for Anti Clockwise mate ;D
