eml/egr fault

despite cleaning egr, my eml is still on and off.can you dissconnect lead from solenoid and bridge with paper clip like you can with header tank sensor,im at my wits end with this as egr seems to be working when i take it off

no you can't, have you blanked it off with a metal gasket??
Other alternative is to pick up a used one from a breakers on here

You make them yourself, mine is made from an old coke can, take the egr off and remove the gasket, cut open a coke can and flatten it out make a template of the original gasket on the coke can....
job done.... :y
