Losing Water
« on: 20 August 2009, 21:08:02 »

I am losing water but cannot find where it is coming from, oil is clear, there is no mayo under the filler cap. Temperature gauge is up to 92.5 when running. All advice welcome

so far i have done 402 miles & just put the third ltr of water  in. but as i said i cant see any leak even on the floor as i ran the car for 30 mins in the drive. so is it leaking or is it using it. the car has only done 63000.

Hello and welcome mate.

Check out the HBV as it's prone to leaking water. It's located under the scuttle panel. Look out in the maintenance guides for locating the HBV  :y

Hi,
Done 402 miles on 3 litres of water and when the car is running the temperature guage is 92.5 or higher. I have had the car running on the drive for 30 mins but cannot see any water that has leaked onto the floor. Sorry for not replying before not used to the website yet.

As Martin says, probably HBV.
Try running the engine up to temp. and feeling around the HBV :).

Also have you looked on the driver's side floor to see if the matrix is leaking :-/
