3.0 Still Stalling But only when hot??
« on: 29 August 2009, 23:13:50 »

Ok I changed my exhaust system today and hoped that would stop the stalling as it started doing it just after it blew.

Once I had it fitted it ran like a dream, all the power was back and it ticked over great, however as soon as it got red hot and when sat on tickover on morrisons forcourt it stalled. It then did it four or five times before I drove her home and parked up.

After a couple of hours I got back in her and she drove great again without stalling  :-?

Anyone got any ideas. Someone has suggested that due to my missing heatsheild on my drivers side manifold its evaporating the fuel in the fuel lines but I cant see this happening my self??

No, no fault codes. I had the crank sensor on origianlly but I replaced the sensor with a brand new vx one a couple of weeks ago.

When you start from cold she ticks over at 800 revs however when hot she drops to 550/600 and holds steady.

Its just when its red hot and I drive her around constantly for a while, when I pull up or start to slow down say at the lights she stutters then stalls. You can then restart however sometimes she will stay running and other times she just cuts out again and she has to be driven using both pedals to ensure the revs stay up around 1000

Ok heres another update. Have driven to walsall today and she drove like a dream, no hesitation, no eratic idling and no stalling. Drove back and had quite a lot of traffic/red lights however no stalling so Im hoping that whatever was causing the stalling has cleared itself.

The temp does appear to get a little on the high side (97/98) when sat in traffice but soon drops back down to 95 when driving. However fingers crossed on the stalling issue.

Ive decided to run her all week and see how she goes and if everything is ok I will clean all the breathers next weekend  :y :y
