Starting problems
« on: 07 September 2009, 14:30:36 »

Having starting problems this morning, turns over but wont fire.

Engine codes show 135 MIL voltage too high.

RAC came out, hooked up to a reader (above code) but it then started without touching anything else.

RAC have gone and again wont start.

Anyone got any ideas? would that code be a problem or unrelated?

Codes were checked a couple of weeks ago and nothing was showing.

135 = telltale light voltage high/low

Thats normally associated with the crank sensor. Try paper clipping it to see what other codes are there :y

Does the immobiliser light flash rapidly with ignition on or extinguish after a few seconds?

MIL
Battery
Oil
Handbrake

None flash, ABS, TC, MIL go out after a while

dont think it is crank sensor, got it started again yesterday, did 40 miles not a single issue.

this morning it started but with a bit of effort (2-3 secs cranking then a few splutters and started) then again ran smooth as anything.

coming home mrs picked me up, started first time from home to station, at station again needed a bit of effort, during cranking I noticed rev counter jumping up before it started (been told rev counter wont move if crank sensor not working)

any other ideas?
