OIL LEEK .... 2.0 16v

I have an oil leek from somewhere , The only place I see the oil is on my drive ! or when I lift the bonnet I can see oil on the allen key bolts that hold rocket cover down and oil on the heat shield on the exhaust.. does that make sense Im no mechanic !

This mornig as I did the school run I noticed a burning smell from under bonnet and because I was trying to demist window I had fumes coming in the car too


PLEASE HELP BEFORE MY WIFE KILLS ME !! LOL

Sounds like it could be you rocker cover gasket leaking had this on my old car previously, found oil dripping onto exhuast downpipe aswell when driven caused a right stink.

Check the rear of the cover when the engine is cold where at the rubber seal towards the top should be half circles if oil has been leaking I always found it leaked from there.

The rocker cover gasket replacement is pretty simple to do.

Just make sure you use the black stuff to reseal the cover the green stuff vx will try to sell you goes hard and breaks up over time.

Maybe worth checking the how 2 section as I'm sure there is a guide in there to complete this job.

have you tried cooking the leek and making it into a soup?  ::)

To fix the leak, you need to replace your rocket cover gasket, guide in maint section.
