Petrol
« on: 05 December 2007, 19:01:41 »

Last month i mentioned, petrol may go up by 10p a lt.

Well, January/February 2008 could be the start, of the petrol tanker drivers taking strike action?

All over the cost of fuel.

If i find out any more, i'll let you no, as i would have thought, all lorry company's would be participating?

Doubt it will achieve much. What can it achieve?

OPEC indirectly set the price, government hasn't the power to do too much about that.

Governement, and particularly that idiot of a Mayor, are hell bent on us getting electric cars because they think we are stupid enough to believe they are greener, so they will welcome petrol shortages, stating that it shows we need to reduce our reliance on oil

But it does have the power to reduce the big fat wedge of pie it takes by ways of taxation >:(

Not really, as when we are forced to have electric cars, they will remember how environmentally unfriendly they are and start taxing leccy.

I had to catch a bus the other day :-[
Talk about crap service :(
2 o'clock in the afternoon on a packed bus full of pensioners(sorry older members,eh nearly there :y) and freaks ,for 1.75 hours(25 mins in a car)
The government want more people to use public transport, when the PT network cannot cope as it is.
Forget fuel protests, they won't get you anywhere

LETS HAVE A LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME AND USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT DAY.
GOVERNMENT :-[
I WONDER WHAT % OF WORKERS WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE IT TO WORK :exclamation

According to the timetable sites, my commute to work (to get there around 9ish), will take around 14hrs. Trip home (leave 5ish) can be done in a mere 7hrs.

Doubt it...we don't know how to organise a protest in this country...as much as I hate to say it, the French are good at it (and nothing else). ;)
