have you read fault codes?  if not do it and post em up (link in my sig)

will give us more to go on.

Is the car well serviced?  Air and fuel filters in good condition?

ohhh, and welcome to the forum  :y

makes no difference....many fault codes do not illuminate the light.

check for codes.

there are some that WILL cause breakdown, which dont illuminate the light.

that is paperclippable as per the above guide then.

Let us know the codes, and we can take it from there...

It's probably something to do with the crank sensor (root of all evil) ;)

No codes then....

can you check for air leaks....

1 way is spray carb cleaner round different bits of the engine....if there is an air leak the noise will change as it burns off the flamable cleaner

Hi Stevie and welcome to the forum :y.

I had the same symptoms and after cleaning the breathers and ICV it was fine and problem not returned :y.

Have you made sure that the ICV is pushed all the way home into the plenum, i tapped mine in gently with a piece of wood and a mallet to get a good airtight fit :).

What are the idling revs, does it only do it when the car has warmed up?
