Looking at an Omega
« on: 18 September 2009, 22:22:04 »

Looking at an Omega with the ABS/TC/Speedo fault.
Guy has been told it's probably a wheel sensor, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was the ABS pump module - after all, had it before and might as well expect the worst.

So does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can buy a module?
Last one was around £250 IIRC.

Depends on what, matey?

And how 'good' is a secondhand one? Must admit, I kinda think that secondhand electronicals are risky, as I know Jack Schitt about electronics! :-[

If you can get on from the same model and year you won't have to Tech 2 it. We sold atleast 6 and never had any problems :y

Tech 2 is no problem, though, as a mate works at a Vx dealer.:y
All academic now as the seller wants waaaay too much for the car.  :-/
Shame, but not to worry - I'll carry on searching.

There was a thread on here last week about BBA-reman. A reconditioning company that can take your ECU, refurbish it and send it back to you with a guarantee for about £100.

The people who had used them seemed very pleased with the results. (& Tech 2 wasn't required)
