other than omega's, what are the best or most exciting cars you've owned, i've been lucky working in the trade with motor traders insurance ( covered to drive anything ), and i've owned litterally hundreds of cars amongst my faves have got to be the 91 bmw 750i v12 i had in 2006, the scorpio cosworth 24v ( the ultimate street sleeper ) ,  i had a very modified fiat uno turbo ie!, montego mg turbo!!!!,  but the one car i'll always remember as the car i loved was a 1991 mitsubishi sigma 3.0 v6 24v quad cam, yes it was an auto and front wheel drive but its performance was in a leauge of it's own, it pinned you back in your seat and you could'nt move forward if you tried! for some reason the controls for the electric seats were above the rear view mirror in a roof console but thats the japs for you! it only took 2 whole days to change the cam belt!!! i ended up swapping it for a jag xj40 and regretted it straight away! so come on then, what have been your best cars apart from omega's?

I'm not one for changing cars very often, tend to get 3-4 years no problem.
This meega is my fav ever car, before that a 1.8 Astra (my company car from new) was favourite.

I agree with you about the Scorpio Cosworth...I have one prior to coming over to the Omega side. Didn't handle as well as the Omega, but still THE most comfortable car that I have ever driven.

yes, mine was poly-bushed and was on goodyear f1 tyres and it used to get very scary on the limit ! i dont think they bothered too much about the handling although they were meant to have up-rated brakes and suspension to cope with the engine's power! thats one thing i love about senators and omegas with the traction control off , the fun you can have with the arse end out is brilliant!

Back in the late 80s I did quite a bit of car delivery, so know that era reasonably well.

I have also driven a few Toyotas (owned by same company as the VX dealer) and a few BMWs (my Dad worked at one place and my boss has had a few).

The Toyotas I drove were all bland except for a Supra, we had an Audi in once at the VX dealer and it was an 1800 it was not as nice as the F reg 1800 Cavailers we tended to move around a lot.

BMWs are quite nice to drive.

PXes - didn't rate the Granadas (2 day job for me, Astra to Kent, Carlton back, drop off Carlton after PDI, pick up Granny, drop off Granny), don't know why, just didn't seem as good a drive.

I haven't owned many cars myself, but my favourite was the last one.

i'd love your job, i've always fancied doing that, i do a lot of valeting and pre-delivery work for lime garages, our local saab dealership and i've picked a few up for them but they look after me, they get me on a train and then a taxi to the car, not standing on the slip road of the m5 with trade plates! most new saabs are vauxhalls underneath, i love the 95 areo;s but the best saab at the minute has to be the 95 3.0v6 diesel, boy do those things move and its a diesel!!

I am getting to play with quite a few of the new cars right now. Historically my favourites have to be...

Vauxhall Senator 24v. Bl**dy wonderful cars.  

Saab 9000, especially the very rare 2.3 Carlsson. Not super quick off the mark, but once you get traction it is ridiculously fast and really made you hang on! Needed modified suspension setup to handle remotely well and had the disadvantage of fwd, but a brilliant powerplant (and seriously tuneable!)

Montego MG Turbo. Afwul handling, turbo boost that was like flicking a switch and an ugly car.... but it was real fun to drive.

Citroen BX 1.9 16v (Phase 1 pre 1989). Without doubt the best handling fwd car I have ever driven!
People may slate the hydropneumatic system but in that car, when it was working properly, gave amazing levels of grip and brakes that stopped like nothing else!
The engine was gutless below 4k rpm, but between there and 7.5k (redline) it was seriously quick and made rather a good noise for a 4 pot.
I may well seek out one as a weekend fun car in the new year...

Oh, and the new 9-3 diesel is rather nice.

Too highly tuned Mini Cooper S, straight cut box, LSD, minilights, ultralightweight body (perspex windows, no winders, no heater,trim and so on).  Ah those were the days. Nowadays any production car seems to be faster and handle better than the so called performance cars of the 60's and 70's.

I wished I still had them now.

Back in 1987 I was paid £1.50 per hour to do this - it was a filler before getting a real job.

The only way I made money was by the following

Started while on a community programme (work for unemployed)
Stopped when I got a job in a model shop. (4 months was enough)
Chucked that in for a computer course.
After course did it again as a fill in - got onto employment training with no place, also at job club (waste of space) I missed JC a lot since I was delivering. What did help was the following rules.

There are 2 types of unemployment benefit, one where you lose total, one which is day based, the day based one worked well with odd day work, I made little extra over dole but got to see the country and got paid to ride on trains. 8 hours pay for 2 hour drive to London, wait an hour while they check, 45minute walk to LUG, hour and half to Paddington, then wait for a while watching trains, this could take a couple of hours, then up to 2 hours to Gloucester depending if direct or change at Swindon. Then bus back to the dealer, (unless I dropped my bike off at the station earlier).

With employment training they dock no money at all

I like the look of that Omega Q-car with the Lotus engine - very stealth.  I wonder if it's still in one piece?

The one car I wish I still had now was the Corolla GT Coupe (AE86) I had  back in the day.  I remember that whilst it wasn't all that quick (124bhp with 950kg I think) the handling was really well balanced and dead easy to control, and looked great in a 80's sharp-edged type of way.  Oh, and that fact they go for loads now....

I once had a job selling cars, and for that short time drove loads and loads of cars that people were trading in or were up for sale.  Easily the best was a lightly tuned Skyline R33 GT-R.  It just felt great - awsome handling, amazing engine, looked great.  I just felt like king of the road!  I sometimes look on Autotrader and see them looking all affordable, but I worry with all the complexity it would be a money pit.

VX220 Turbo.....so much better than the Elise thanks to a MUCH better engine.

For fun in a box Rover 200 vi. Modified to 160bhp and on 17`s in the vvc guise. Sideways more often than an Omega.

I think for comfort and toys the Omega is best yet, and the rather large list of driven / owned includes 7 series BMW`s
