ref headlights

hi guys my facelift mig     when i put headlights on message comes up on comp saying headlight/tail light if i switch them of and remove key  when i put them on again it doesnt happen  but it occurs the first time every day

I have had something similar a few days before a bulb failed totally.

I think the filaments can sometimes re-weld themselves back together and carry on working for a short while after they first fail.

cheap bulbs can cause this if you can't find a blown bulb.  be aware there are 4 tail bulbs

they are not normal bulbs in the headlights are they?

either H1 normal bulbs or HID's(high intensity discharge) like zenon but not zenon, will have yellow and black warning sticker on back of headlight if HIDs, bulbs for these aint cheap, esp from dealer
