fuel / air?
« on: 23 September 2009, 15:57:27 »

My 3lt v6 is acting as though its not getting enough fuel, only on occasions. When i accelerate it is sluggish and when i ease back on the throttle a bit she takes off ok.
or if i hold down the eccelerator as normal, when the revs are up a bit, around 35/40 ish it behaves normally.
I have absolutly no idea what can cause this.
Anybody had this before.

Could be the MAF is faulty. Maybe try checking for any fault codes?
Also check the air filter is clean and there are no leaks in the intake manifold assembly, (would be evident by a hissing/ sucking sound).
If all is well there could be the fuel system is clogged. Do you know when the fuel filter was last changed?
Maybe try some cleaner additive in the fuel and give it some welly.

simply unplug the MAF when engine not working.. .. and try the same acceleration..if car does not hesitate still you have problem with MAF..

Would that actually work, I would have thought the engine would go in to safe mode?
