Assuming retail (not ex-police) MV6, main differences are:

Things that Elite has that MV6 doesn't - cruise control, leather seats with electric adjustment and memory, memory mirrors, electrochromatic rear-view mirror, plastic bits at bottom of bumpers and sideskirts are body coloured, puddle lights, heated rear seats, irmscher grille, rear blind, wood effect trim.

Things that MV6 has that elite doesn't: Sports suspension (stiffer and lower), sports seats with extendable thigh support, 17" alloy wheels, carbon-fibre effect interior trim.

They are both pretty well specced, with 4x electric windows, electric sunroof, HID lights, dual climate control, etc. Personally I prefer the MV6 as the seats are much better, it has nicer wheels and better suspension as standard. The only interesting parts from the Elite are easy and cheap to add to the MV6, such as electrochromatic mirror and cruise control. However you could also go the other way and fit better seats, wheels and suspension onto the Elite. Biggest drawback on the Elite for me is it's very difficult to find as a manual, being that it's the more "mature" version of the car. Manual MV6s are much more common due to the sporty nature of it.

:)Not being a clever dickie but some MV6's have sport spec leather(recaro?)Mines only a cd but has full leather. Depends how the first owner specced 'em. Some may have been upgraded but reckon mines all as it should be. The rest is down to personal preference. A 3.0 Elite is MASSIVELY specced & as an auto should give a lovely kickdown when needed (or just 'coz you feel like it )
Manual MV6 is my choice when i upgrade. :y

You can always put a handrail barrier round the step, she'll be able to see it then, or fit go forward sensors ;D ;D
