can i lower the beast??plz help

hello again my little tech boffins..
02 reg 2.6 elite i want to lower the old girl 40mm ish will i have probs with the stability system?plans are (after next week when oil coolant prob sorted)a 40 mm drop and 19" astra vxr wheels..but just wondered if any one has experienced  any probs lowering with the electronic stability system on board?!?!
all feed back muchly appreciated brothers of the (omega)round table!!

Fine but, more than 30mm on standard shocks will cause issues.

You will need to disable the self leveling setup to.

After lowering and a full geometric set up you'll have a vast improvement in handling and stability.
I lowered my previous '94 Elite by 40mm with standard length, slightly up-rated, Monroe shocks.  KYB's on my current '00 CD.
 I didn't find any issues with std height shocks and 40mm lowered springs over a period of 4 years, but can only advise from my own experience.
With speed humps and if you have a steep driveway etc. maybe 30mm is a better option.
You won't be dissapointed with the drive either way.  :y
