started the car this morning, started fine, five minutes later the tickover started doing all sorts of things, now she's running as rough as a robbers dog,no oil in plug wells,is there any way of testing the dis pack or is it just trial and error?

i'd start with a plug and ht lead change first  :y

alot less hassle and cheeper  :y

if you go down the coil pack route, you might find that when you get the tinker out, the underside of it will be starting to rust !  if so then its knackerd  :'(
