steering column play
« on: 11 October 2009, 23:01:47 »

doing that one handed "turn the steering wheel with your palm" thing shows it up most, hold the wheel at 11 and 4 oclock ish and rock the wheel and there is a knock/play, also knock that can be felt through the pedals when hitting bumps that seems related.....possibly.

Seen mention of a squib? Or something? Easy job?

Cheers.

Chris. :-)

Check for play in front suspension and steering. Also check top strut bearings if possible.

There is a bush in the column i believe Chris :).

Isn't the squib the thing that activates the Airbag?

Woo. Might be. Working from memory....

My old Omega had it too but never got round to doing anything about it.
