EML on my 2.0 16v :-(

Driving on the dual carriage way today and car cut out then come on again , but with the engine management light on and auto gearbox warning light !

Got home and tried to start it .. It turned over for a while then started but reved like a bag of s**t !

gave it an hour started fine , drive round the block and the same thing happend again :-(

Any ideas ??

its the cam sensor, dose that on mine, as when cold its fine and when it hot it cuts out, im getting one tomorrow. :y

Got a guy coming round tomorrow to do a diagnostic test on it mate :-)

Just curious on prices he says it is cam sensor :-(

Cam sensor about £36 on TC and about £43 retail +vat

im getting geuine one for £25 inc P&P, Vauxhall motor parts.
what year is yous as there are two types with same part number.

Came up on fault code as crank shaft censor ?

Is it easy to change myself ??

Good job you didn't buy the ca sensor because somebody 'guessed' ;D


crank sensor easy on 2.0 if no a/c, fiddly if you have a/c

Been looing for a how to !

I have new sensor in my hand , Ive unplugged it and followed the wire to the end but the rest is just guess work :-(

the bugger is behind a/c compressor.  doable, but fiddly...

ring loo-knee instead - most mechanics dont know what they are doing ;)
