« on: 20 October 2009, 15:34:24 »

Well it was that time of year again, m.o.t time, and as usual my car has failed  ::)  ( ive had 7 cars in the last 9 years and NOT ONE has ever passed first time lol) 3 tyres too low, one headlight out of alignment, and worst of all ! both my rear coil springs had SNAPPED! :o :o anyone got any idea of prices for 2 rear coil springs?......only plus point i can see about today was it didnt fail on my dodgy oil sump repair using apoxy putty  :y
oh and just a quick warning.......another item my car failed on was having a air freshener hanging from my rear view mirror!!! so if you got one? take it down before the test  ::)  :y

Tyres - No real excuses!  ;)
Headlights = Sadly it happens sometimes
Rear springs - Welcome to our modern roads. I fit KYB's from www.buypartsby.co.uk

no excuse for tyres failing, easy to check those, 1 look at my rears and i knew they were done. Just check for the legal lip measure.

Quick look under the boot and you can check the coil springs, KYB are good, around £40 each

I successfully had a complete exhaust system for my Pontiac back in 03 from Hounslow Council after they went on a road hump building spree, although it took the best part of a year to get the money from them.

I know theres no real excuse for the tyres  :-[ but they had worm too low on the INSIDE edge , but it will teach me to check them FULLY in future  ::) just cant believe i didnt notice any difference in the driving quailty of the car with both rear springs snapped  :-/

you won't notice snapped springs, they don't really affect the ride.

Worn tyres on the inside? Get it to WIM for alignment, somethings not right there  :y
