limping miggy please help
« on: 16 October 2009, 20:52:05 »

hi guys haven't been here for a while . just got my miggy back off my dad, after three years its an 98 opel 2.0cd 16v with problems, ie head gasket wishbone bushes no hand break, will do these my self but here's the puzzling one, eml light is on, engine wont rev past about 3500, code reader says cam sensor so changed this for new after market one. no change so forked out for genuine one still no change, car seems to start ,and run OK not as smooth as i remember but head gasket is blowing slightly,  any help would be much appreciated all the best westy :)

after market one's wont work, has to be a MG, try this http://www.vauxallparts.co.uk/?option=Prod_detail&product_id=113 this should work. for cam sensor :y see there are two types, one that dont work and the othere that dose, if you just gave them the code to get your new cam sensor the one on the sensor you will get the mod one but if you gave the vin number you would of got the old type witch wold work some of the 98's are the new one's but maybe yous is a 96-97 as its been in storage till sold, so would be the old one. :y

head gaskit blowing slightly? If its failed its failed. Do you really mean head gaskit? Or exhaust manifold gaskit?

what is your ecu number, that also helps finding the right cam sensor, simtec 56.0/56.1 are the orignal, not the new type. same with the crank sensor.old one not new type.

Well what ever you have, i would not advise anyone to buy from that link wanting a geniune part, as it clearly states on the site they are NOT geniune.

well thats ok cos just asked them over the phone and its a geuine part and they only have one left, they have o put on site equivalent part as the other part number is for the modified part as well, they have sold over hundreds of these and had no return's, or replacements.

Your missing the point, their website states its not geniune. If you buy one and a pattern turns up, you don't have a leg to stand on.
