What revs?

My 2.5v6 seems to be reving too high. When you are crusing in 5th at 70 mph it is doing 3000rpm
I had a saab9-5 last week as a loan car. 2l and in top gear @ 3000 revs it is doing 90mph

What's your 2.5 v6 rpm @ 50 mph please...!

sounds right for a manual, was the Saab an auto?

Autos always rev much lower

My 2.2 manual is doing 3.2k rpm at 80mph, father tunnies 2.2 auto does less than 3k at the same speed

3000rpm at 70 sounds about right to me.3000 at 90 is very high geared imo. :y

Much too long in the tooth to get embaressed by such trivia.Driving a car for years with a nail in the tyre however......... ;)

Was one of those.... 'i must get that replaced soon' but i just never got around to it. When i first discovered it, the tyre had a lot of tread left and i was only doing a 15 mile commute so seemed pointless changing it.

70 mph, should be about 2600rpm, for a V6 manual, dont think its too much different for an Auto, assuming the gear box is locked up and not in sports mode.

Is it ex plod?

It is same on mine 2.5 3k revs=70mph , maybe it is different with LSD?  ::)btw how to check with one I have without burning tyres out :-? ?

You won't have one, only a few x-plod ones do.

on my explod with the lsd its about 1000rpm=30mph in 5th so 70=about 2500 give or take. but has a close ratio box as my friends 2.5 the gears are longer. i.e im in third hes still using second. so theoretical top speed is about 195. but it will never rev out in a gearing that high :( not without massive nitrous, balls of steel and skid-proof underwear.
