Battery Needed Please
« on: 26 October 2009, 11:40:03 »

Hi All

Not allowed to post in the wanted secton so am hopeing a kindly admin might move it there for me if possible, pretty please. ;) ;)

I have a 2.5TD, 99/T Elite Saloon with a stuffed battery. If swmbo fails to wait for the glow plug light to go out (which of course I would never do ::) ::)) then you don't get a second chance to start it. Also, if I have the radio on for more than ten minutes then its dead and if I leave it for more than two days its dead.

Money is so massively tight around here at the moment, I just can't afford the £75+ for one.

Would anyone have a decent one within a sensible distance to Boston, Lincs or failing that, Hemel Hempstead, Herts (thats where my folks live).

I don't mean for free, just a lot cheaper than a new one :y :y

Cheers lads and lasses

Also worth checking that your glow plug relay is not intermittantly sticking on (happens), that will kill battery's.

I bought one for my 2.2 dti a couple of weeks ago for £50 - a type 096.   They are on fleabay for around that - I got my last one two years ago from a firm in Rochdale and I was having the same problems as you - sent the battery back and found out it had a dead cell.
