Tyres best suited to 16's
« on: 26 October 2009, 22:56:31 »

OK, old P6000's on the bumps (finally!) and I have trip to do at the weekend so intend to get some fresh rubber this week.

I dont' want to spend a fortune as the speed bumps around my way knock the tracking out and I always lose the insides.

Basically, the available short list is:

Kumho KU31 - £80
Falken 452 - £90
Toyo Proxes - £100
Eagle F1 - £105

I see elsewhere that the F1 got really good reviews in Autotraders test - any comments on the others for a big saloon on chubby tyres?

Thanks.

Always used to buy Michelin, Pirelli, Continental but Nexen CP641 @ £55 each fitted (or less on line) worth a look if you're having problems with inner edge wear. Also go well if you like using the handling of the car...
Incidentally my facelift 2.2, (or the one before), does not wear the inner edges like my pre-facelift car did. Maybe a change of geometry as turning circle different I think?
