MV6 2.6L - NOT STARTING THOUGH TURNS OVER
« on: 29 October 2009, 11:38:20 »

Hello gents,

I am a newbie and really interested in sorting problems myself. Diagnostic done by a local garage and they got no fault codes from the ECU. I have done the pedal test and found codes 0325 and 0335. I have also found a broken wire which I believe may be for the crankshaft sensor. I can only see a connection which lead down behind cam belts but have no idea where the other "end" is. Please can anyone tell me where to look. Its on the l/hand side. I want to replace this myself but I need help as I have never done this before..... Greatful for any support....Cheers

0335 is crank sensor. Needs genuine VX replacement. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1174321688 :y
0325 is knock sensor on driver`s bank, check the wiring to it

Thanks for replying. If this is right than the damaged wire I see could be the knock sensor. The wire is severed and unsure where the other "end" is Please could you let me know where the connections are as would need to replace this and thinking to do this first before changing crank sensor...what do you think?????

The engine will run with the knock sensor disconnected, it will simply apply a rev limit of approx 3-4K rpm.

0325 is the 1-3-5 knock sensor and should connect upto a connector on the cable tray that runs along the front of the cambelt cover. Note: this being damaged is normaly a sign of a poor cambelt change where the cable has been in-correctly re-fitted when putting things back together....so if you have had the cambelt changed, take it up with the garage that did the work!

0335 is the crank sensor - this will stop the engine running.

Just make sure you maintain the integrity of the co-ax screening :y

Contary to popular belief, I can confidently say that the 20mm length of repair will make little impact on the operation in this case (mainly as the screen is acting as a shield and not as part of a controlled impedance coax)
