steering rack problem

ive got a r reg 2.5 omega the passenger side joint to the steering rack is loose,is a spline joint ir just a bush?should i replace the whole thing or just the bush?have tried tightening it but made no difference! :y

Omegas don't use a steering rack!  ;)

Is this the bit that bolts to the front chassis rail with two bolts and has an arm coming off the bottom.

If so all you can do is replace it. And a nice new one really improves handling. At least it did on mine.

it is the steering idler arm!thankyou,are they easy to do?

i did the one on mine, i just had to give it a good shock with a hammer but not too difficult  :y :y
