Some 2.5 tractors can be paperclipped for codes. Have you tried yours :question

How long have you owned it, was it ok starting when you bought it? Do you only have a problem when starting from cold?.....Reason for questions maybe the obvious, glow plugs could be one of the problems first real cold snap and they find out weak plugs. If it then starts ok when the engine is warm then it's a good indication. Could also be fuel supply from tank so don't discount that either, but check GP as a starter.

Mine has trouble starting from cold because it is damp at the moment but usually it starts ok from cold. I have just posted a help plea on the forum for answers.

if it starts almost immediately then cuts out i would be looking at leak off pipes and drain back into the tank, change fuel filter first ensuring the heater is tight then check and replace any suspect leak off pipes then go to glowplugs if you need to

just stating the obvious but if its your first diesel no-one might have told you - turn the ignition on and wait a few seconds for the glow plugs to warm up - there should be a little yellow light that goes out on the dash after about 10 seconds - once the light is out the engine should fire up straight away.  If I forget to do it on my Dti it will not start from cold in the winter
