I was disappointed by the awful lights on the Omega, so fitted some top-quality superbright bulbs-but they are still about half as good as the H4 headlights in my little hatchback-even though both H1 and H7s light simultaneously.  The lenses are clean, bulbs new, etc-but I had these "glass ball" type lights in an Alfa before and they were equally appalling.

Can anyone advise how to pull the beams up so they shine further up the road? (the adjuster wheel on dash is on 0/top setting).

I'm sick of feeling my way along  the dipped only extends about 40ft in front of me/main beam 60ft.  Is this normal?  Recently passed MOT...

best mod to do is HIDs' - i am pleased with the nightbreakers, they do me now, almost as good

Daft thing is that the superbrilliance H4s in my other car waps anything with HIDs that I have ever driven-but it has clear lenses with large multi-reflector backs.

The 4 superbright bulb set up in my Omega should be much better-must need adjusting upwards

There is an adjuster/level setting, next to the fog buttons....

Not sure what mind is set at, think its 2 or 3, i think 0 is pointed right down  :-/

Not sure what mind is set at, think its 2 or 3, i think 0 is pointed right down  :-/

0 is highest, 3 is lowest-checked this yesterday

No, its too low-there is a pool of light that stops abruptly about 40' ahead-they need to be raised up

Found the answer to this one.....

Drove over to see welung666 today after explaining the issue with the lights-so grateful for his expert help.

Turns out the inner headlight plastic mountings had snapped inside the headlights both sides, so he replaced one headlight complete and then managed to mend the other one with a level of expertise that far surpassed my own!

Drove the 40 miles back in the dark and they are a great deal better-as he said, they need final adjustment, but so pleased can now drive in the dark

i have found the headlights on my 98 cdx to be pretty poor and somtimes i worry about driving in the dark on country twisty lanes . i have to drive with fog lights on as a back up and the full beam is pretty poor . The headlights on my old carlton are alot better .

tha last car i owned with poor healights was an mondeo , and they were crap.

I have the lights with the blue tint in them , if this helps for any further advice.

I've got the "nothing after about 40'" issue with mine. Fitted Nightbreakers which are definately brighter, but still no depth. Tried the dash adjuster, which moves the light ok, but only down and back to where they were. Checked the adjusters on the light. They're seized solid with one broken.
I'm looking at replacing both units as the lenses are not too clear, even after a t-cut and polish.
Am I correct in assuming the adjusters come as part of the headlight unit ?

Now adjusted up-easy with advice from welung666 over the phone.  Went to MOT station to use light tester, 4mm allen key on outer side adjusters, pulled them up lots and now my Mig has correct lights, checked by MOT tester, plus all bulbs replaced with +90% superbrights (H1 Philips Xtremes and H7 Osram Nightbreakers)-so properly set up and with the best legal bulbs.

Note: thought the adjusters were broken, but they are very low geared-took 30+turns to move them a few mm.

Lights now much better, but projector lights are a bad design giving patchy light with dark spots and a rainbow tinged far-end limit which is very defined and does not gently fade out making your eyes aches with the difference between the lit field and pitch black unlit field.
I am amazed that even though the headlight bulbs stay lit when the main beam come on giving 4 lights on at once, that they are STILL not as good as the clear lens large multi reflector units with single H4s in my little hatchback...

I have never owned a "glass ball" projector light equipped car that has been any good in the dark.....

Still at least it is much more driveable in the dark now with 4 superbright +90% bulbs in-but I can make much faster night progress in my 1 litre hatchback which has better designed lights.

Out of interest, I fitted Halfords Super Brilliance* +90s H4s to my Parent's Perodua Myvi (like a Daihatsu Sirion) which has big clear lens multi-reflector lights-this is a WORLD better than the Omega as it is like turning the day back on-with perfectly balanced light, no dark spots and gentle fade-out at the edge of lit field.  Better than any Xenon equipped car I have used, too. 

Have used most premium bulbs, Halfords used to be best-now quality is inconsistent.  Just sent a pair of Osram Nightbreakers back as the filaments dropped out in one week.  Philips Xtremes are the very best, but expensive.
