Do you mean the check oil level warning on the Info screen? Mine comes up occasionally. You can clear the warning by pressing the large button on the wiper stalk and continue to use the Info Display.

My TD gives out this code from time to time, seemingly random.

I just ignore it as I keep a keen eye on the oil level anyway.

On my 94 2.5 V6 petrol it used to occasionally show either 'check oil' or 'oil lack' if I let the level fall below half way on the dipstick.

I never did work out what the difference was & after the initial panic  :o realised that it gave me plenty of warning that I needed a top up (about 1000 miles early ::) )

On the V6 petrol you have to drop the oil pan (sump) to get to it. Don't know where it is in the diesel.

Do all omegas say "Oil Lack" at below half? Mine occasionally comes up saying "Check Oil Level" which at first concerned me. But now i just ignore the Warnging and check my level weekly. I didnt know it would shout at me when im Lacking oil tho.   Glad i read this thread (sorry i couldnt be of any help tho :-/ )

the lack oil warning stays on all the time even after using the check button,i think its cause it would be important if in fact the level was low,i could do with knowing where the sensor is,on the engine to make sure that the electrics are sound, also any one any ideas on the second part of my post.cheers

'Oil Warning' tends to show on slow inclines on motorways, always worth just to top up to 'full' level.
CHIP 2.5 diesel, only if an manual, the AR25 auto box will fail with the extra BHP.
