Key Problems
« on: 13 November 2009, 12:13:21 »

Hi

Only had my omega a couple of weeks but I'm having problems with the key fob.

The one supplied with the car was in such a bad state that the only way I could unlock the car was to do it the old fashioned way and put the key in the lock.

I've now received through a new key fob (top part) but I can not seem to find in the manual how to re-sync the new key.

Can anyone point me in the right direction!

Cheers

you will need the car-pass which is a credit card sized card with the key info on it, and a chat with tech2 (device that speaks to car ECU)

Post up your location, we may have a tech2 near you

You need the car pass, which you get from a Vx dealer

Ok, thats the trouble, it needs coding to the car.

You can only re-sync an existing key.

I'm still using the original key blade and sensor. Can any Vx dealer do the necessary and roughly how much!

Closest ones for you are Alton, Hampshire & Brackley in Northants/Oxon/Bucks border. We can do the programming, but you still need to go to the dealer for the car pass.

For prices see theboy.omegaowners.com

Been shafted by ebay again, seller said it was a simple case of switching the blade and re-syncing the fob!!!!
