Engine electrics light
« on: 13 November 2009, 01:42:59 »

Hello all. I'm new to this and I've just bought a 2.5L CDX Automatic. Bringing it home the engine electrics light seemed to be on a lot. I've seen the paperclip test on here and just wondering if there is any more advice really. I couldn't even figure the codes on the video on here so that's left me a bit worried! Also, the car seems to be performing well so would it be ok just to leave it?

I'm skint and don't really want to spend much money if possible!

Thanks

Do you mean the EML mate? I would suggest doing the paperclip test and posting the results on here so the specialists can provide better advice to you. Just check out the video once more ... it's really easy to do the paper clip thingy. (I happened to be able to do it myself)

Example:
1 Flash - pause - 2 flashes = 12 (Start of sequence)
longer pause - this code repeats itself 2 more times.

Try it and post  :y

Thank you. The car isn't actually at my house at the mo. Waiting for my insurance to come through to tax it but I will give it all go and see what happens!

Thanks for your help
