ok easy way to test propshaft, get a piece of wire and a weight, rap round the propshaft leving weight to dangle, have one person  turn one wheel and one person under the car and look for it moving side to side up and down, if juders a bit put some grease on it so it can slip easy, should be able to test it that way as you said it on stands, allso listen out for clicking as that could be the problem area.

Candyman got me sorted, either it was a bent prop or the prop had been split and not lined up correctly when refitted, new prop in and it drives like a dream.

Not sure if it is my imagintaion but it even feels faster or mor responsive!!
