2.2 dti starting probs

hi all i have the 2.2dti after a half hour drive i parked it half on the pavement and now it wont start again it done the same last saturday but i put it down to low fuel went an got diesel ignition on for a minute and it started no probs but this time its just under the half a tank also in last the month if i park it facing up a hill it starts then cuts straight out and i have to starting it till it starts

has any one had this problem before or any ideas ?

It sounds to me like you have an air leak which is allowing the fuel to drain back to the tank. It could be a number of things, the fuel return pipes between the injectors age and leak but they're quite cheap and easy to replace, could also be the injector seals which is a bit more difficult or you could try the fuel filter housing.

thanks for the replies i will check them out i went back to the car last night an hour after it wouldnt start and first turn off the key fires up and so far been fine someone told me it could be the crank speed sensor that can cause hot starting probs has anyone had that before?
