oil cooler or not !

i had a read of the oil cooler replacement guide,and i want to know is the oil cooler channel that it sits in contain water as my header tank is caked in oil/water,the dip stick shows no water contamination but the oil level is about half to 3 quater's full ,there is white gunge on the oil filler cap and funnel.a bit pi##ed really as it's my first omega and i have only done 300 mile since buying it,cry! :'(

Does sound like the oil cooler. The oil cooler is in the V of the engine and is water cooled, its not a bad job to do, I would say the worst part is flushing the cooling system.

just had to buy new sockets/spanner's as well as vauxhall in all there wisdom use male type torx bolts  >:(

forgot to ask on the breather box bolted to side of engine,driverside back i have a big pipe connected and i can see the remains of a smaller pipe thats come off were does that smaller one go,bye the way it's lpg'ed too the car that is

mmm,fiat dont,but i have only ever had them before,dam good cars too vary understated only got the omega for a change as there does'nt seem to be any around me

Where are you near?

There are a few of us on here who are quite adept at changing them now.

Small pipe should go to the rear of the black Ecotec strip along the top of the plenum.

cheers for that all pipes are connected to that so must be hanging down back someware if i get a chance i will take of the top and have a look as i think i will have to go to town on this car as serviceing looks a bit thin on the ground with this car

Its best to get them from Vauxhall. I would join Autobahn Stormers which costs £20 you will then get a trade card which will get you a little discount from your local dealers or if your ever over my way let me know and I can get them for you. Dont be tempted to get the cam cover gaskets off Ebay they're rubbish and don't last 5 minutes ;)

thanks for that mate i might take you up if i get stuck,perhaps you could get me them and post on to me ,pay you up front of course but i'll let you know first if you would do that  ;)

Shame you're not closer.  I have done a few now.  Maybe if you call Loo Knee see if he is in your area at all.
