Ball park figure for parts V6 head gasket change
« on: 27 November 2009, 16:22:49 »

I am just trying to cost up the worst case scenario that my water loss problem is the head gasket and not HBV or oil cooler unions. Sometimes there are water stains down the side of the engine block near the rear of the engine above the oil filter.

Roughly how much are the parts (not inc oil and antifreeze) to do the job.? Head Gaskets, new bolts, sealing rings etc.

Are there any other parts that need replacing at the same time?

Is it OK to use a pattern HBV e.g. off Ebay or are the VX ones recommended.

They were changed at an Opel dealer here in Spain about 3 and a half years ago.  Not done many miles since maybe 15 to 20k.
