The clip that holds the key part on is damaged so if not very carefull it comes away when turning the key & comes off when pulling out of the ignition barrel.

So I need a new key as it looks like the key doesn't seperate from the plastic Horseshoe surround. I assume the transponder is removable & can be put into a new key?

F.A.O TB - OOF shop is out of stock - Do you know when you will have more or can you advise the best place to get one, are there different ones or are all the Horseshoe ones the same?

Transponder pulls out, have you tried Martin Imber (member) for bits or repair.

No but I will do, Have put a spot of glue on the tip of the plastic now so I'm hoping that will hold till I get a replacement.  :y

Yes you need the whole horse shoe bit, as you say, the metal part doesn't come seperate from the plastic bit. My spare is exactly the same.  ;)

You need be extremely careful when removing the transponder chip, as most of the early ones are lightly glued in place besides held in place by the clip.
If you force it, the chip will snap at the bottom where the internal aerial is located rendering it useless, then you'll really have a problem if you only have one key.
If it doesn't move, run a fine bladed knife down the side of the chip to loosen the glue, and gently prise it.
