not done paperclip test yet, didnt realise it could be read without fault code reader or trip to garage.starter motor only clicks,it has been taken off recently and worked. drove it 3 mile then wouldn't turn over again.

Is the battery charged up?

Had the same problem on my daughters car,we slave started it.Got it home it wouldn't start.

Checked battery drain 1.5 amps which was obviously draining the battery. Took it to motor factors for a heavy discharge test was ok. Seriously baffled, anyway stuck "My Naff Code Reader" on an discovered a fault recorded on infotainment system cleared it with "My Naff Code Reader" and not had the same problem since.

So may be worth getting someone to stick "My Naff Code Reader" on the car to see if anything other than engine ecu is showing faults.

Same car r reg 2.0l omega estate auto.

try putting a jump lead from negative on battery and clip the other end to the engine (starter) do the same again this time put lead from battery to ecu to create a direct earth then see if it starts :y
