spanner light
« on: 03 December 2009, 05:42:07 »

hi guys. was coming home from work just now and i booted it off the lights quite sharp and my car/spanner light has came on and has started running really slow, i cant use sports mode but its not misfiring i can rev right up still so dont think its in limp mode?????
i have no eml light, if i turn her off then back on again she runs norm for a sec then i here a thud from mayby the gearbox and then the light comes on again and she runs slow, any ideas? i am wondering if this is to do with the rattle i have from the torque converter like a ball bearing ratttle on tick over, also i dont have a gearbox message on the mid, any advice woulld be great, thanks

It's not normally the cam sensor on the V6's. Do the pedal trick on it (instructions below) and report back the codes :y

Faulty oil pressure control solenoid in gearbox. May be dodgy connector P0748 or solenoid stuck off P0746

If it's one of the soleniods accessibly from removing the sump, you may be lucky

If you've been hearing nasty noises from the box, this may reduce your chances though!

Sounds as if 2-3 soleniod is 'playing up', about £80 from 'dealer' (OOF members may help). Drop both auto sumps (very smelley), take out and clean filter, refit and fill with DEXRON 3. If you want a photo of the inside of the auto box send me a PM  :y
I had the same problem 8k ago, all ok now.
