Global warming
« on: 13 December 2007, 23:04:00 »

Sorry, if no one else is into this subject, but I thought I'd post anyway.

No doubt the press will continue to be full of dire scare stories emanating from Bali where the latest IPCC junket is taking place. It is interesting to note, however that the man-made global warming scam is currently being debunked:

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/908

Not only that, but 100 top scientists have written to the UN Secretary General to plead with him to stop wasting billions on a futile attempt to control climate which, they say, is entirely natural:

http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/963

I'm all for being green, provided it's sensible and not just another excuse for a government tax grab. We will all be driving hydrogen fuel cell cars in the not too distant future when the oil runs out (hopefully, before then!), so let us spend money on developing those new clean technologies instead of pouring millions, if not billions, into a futile scam.  >:(

Time to stop worrying and face the future with optimism and determination, methinks.  :y

...and if you do care about the environment, then maintain your old cars properly and keep them on the road, for every old car that is kept running there is one less new car made...

That's far too logical for this government. If you have a car with a capacity of over 2000cc, you are a criminal and you will be sentenced to buying a brand new Prius.   ;) ;D

...unless you have car with an engine over 5000cc, in which case you can stay here however long you like and don't worry about paying any UK taxes, Mr. rich foreign tycoon...

did you know that a well maintained car will produce less emissions that it took to create it in the first place.......

Mindblowing that they then encourage us to g and buy these new, low emission cars then  ::)

theres a struggle on the car owner who will take the money..Car sellers n govs..

But anyway they rob you half half.. if you drive a car old in that case tax (at least here) is low but in

that case you pay too much for the parts..

and either old or new you pay enormous tax with the fuel.. Depleting the budget..

ps: I forgot insurance firms also  >:(

also here in my country the "Bermuda triangle"

Banks -giving you credit for Car

Firms -Have aggreement with the banks producing unnecessary new models (every 2-3 years) full of new problems

Gov-Waiting for you to start pay taxes..

now be a good citizen..go take credit..Pay taxes and bills whole out your life..

so let us spend money on developing those new clean technologies instead of pouring millions, if not billions, into a futile scam.

Some hope of that happening with physicists having their projects cancelled left, right and centre at the moment.

It's plain to see that, assuming man made "climate change" is a problem, we have a choice of reducing emissions by going back to live in the trees, reducing emissions by finding cleaner ways to do the things we currently do or carrying on regardless.

No doubt there is something real about global warming. Not helped by major polluters like the USA, China and India.

I haven't ever seen much written about there being too many people on the planet. How much greenhouse gases and emissions are the extra 1 billion humans( since forum members were born) creating each day? Maybe the Chinese were right with their draconian policy of one child per family!

Some possible new taxes:

Tax payable on all children after the first but free condoms for all.
Tax on body emissions (baked beans would become a luxury item).

varche

PS I read that the Chinese have experienced a 56% rise in the cost of pork over the last twelve months. Expect that to feed into prices in the West. God help the Spanish. That could tip the economy into recession.
