AR25 gearbox on chipped 2.5TD
« on: 07 December 2009, 18:37:40 »

Having now established that I am on thin ice with now nearly 24k, out of 94K total, on a chipped tractor with an AR25, is it recommended to carry out an oil (and filter?) change on the gearbox?

Thanks

Somethings holding that box together...I wouldnt touch it.

Save the £50 on oil, and the £30 filters and gaskets towards that new box when the time comes  :y

Agreed. The £80 should buy you a good used AR35. :y

Are you positive that you've actually got an AR25 in the car?

Yep, checked it last week, unless the plate is lying!

It seems that way bud!
AR25 in a chipped tractor = bad news.
You really need an AR35 once chipped - the former can't really handle the increased torque.
