alternater amps td

i cant understand why vx stealers have asked me if i know the amperage of my alt when making an enquiry re a new one. they know my reg & vin No. does anyone have any ideas what ampage i need. thx in advance. :)

never heard that before usually come up on info what alternater is on engine. and every thing else.

Just looked at autodata disc and its showing 105 amp for a 99 2.5td

thanks Pc Techy - the nearest vx that accepts trade is 20mls from me so i emailled my reg & vin No & the reply i got back asked me if i knew the amps  :y :y
