I have heard that some omegas were fitted with LSD (mainly ex plod). I was pulling away from the lights the other night and the wheels span and the car went sideways (traction control off). I tested it on the ice before and both rear wheels spin at the same time. Is there any way to visually check the diff to see if it is LSD? the car is a 3.0 saloon facelift elite thanks Dave

unlikely it is. Easy enough to light up both tyres in wet.

At 50mph when cruising, if the rpm is just under 2k, then I doubt its LSD.

There should be an ident plate on them, but probably long worn off.

I thought only one wheel would spin if it was a slip diff? It was dry as well

Gearbox in gear (or park if auto).
Chock front wheels.
Handbrake off.
Jack up rear of car so both rear wheels are off the ground.

If you can freely turn one wheel and the one on the other side of the car spins the other direction then it is an 'open diff'.

the easiest way to test it is to put the car in first give it the beans lift of the cluch and hold it on the foot brake for about 5 seconds keepin the revs above 3000 rpm and the get out and check if there are one or two tyre spin marks on the floor
