Help Please - Ignition Switch problem
« on: 26 December 2009, 14:15:25 »

Hello All,

Firstly Merry Christmas to one and all, hope it's been festive for everyone.

Secondly, I urgently need an ignition switch and connector for my 2.5TD please.

Went out this morning to visit relatives, put key in ignition, turned on but wouldn't start - No turn over, no dimming of lights etc so not starter.

I took the shroud off to see if the switch was loose and upon taking it apart the whole thing fell to bits!

Looks like I'm not visiting today, but if anyone has the bits lying around I would gladly purchase them.

In the first picture on this page http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1225659626 it's all the black stuff on the left that I need.

I've managed to start the car using bits of wire, but don't really want to drive it like that - does prove it's just the switch broken though.

Thanks in advance,

Pete.

Hi Again,

Further investigation has revealed that the end of the shaft sticking out of the back of the cylinder has snapped off in the switch.

I don't suppose that the cylinders are available as a spare part? Anyone got one for sale that I could put my brass levers into?
