Blanked off the egr and replaced the jacket around the icv.  But the multirams are still not working.  I have suction in the pipes near the master cylinder. I am at a loss on this one.  Will it affect my emmisions?

Also I have the witches wig sticking out the back of my exhaust.  I am guessing its from the back box, does this need a whole exhuast replacement?

  have any of the small air pipes got any cuts in even the rubber parts where they got old?

Well just did a codes test and threw up a 71 but thats probably due the MAF plug coming off earlier this morning so no registered faults with the multirams.

I will prob bite the bullet and get a new mid section back.  Which brand was it that was best atm?

When I got my first 2.5 V6 the multirams didn't appear to be working because the non-return valve wasn't working on the vacuum tank (by the pollen filter in the scuttle).

If you gave it a blip of throttle with the bonnet up the vacuum had gone before the ECU had a chance to open the solenoids. I could detect something happening while driving if I let the revs rise to 4000 on half throttle because there was enough vacuum to operate the flaps.

I gave the non return valve some abuse with a compressed air line and that seemed to fix it

Another symptom of the non return valve not functioning was that on full throttle all the heater flaps went to their 'off' position but when you eased off the throttle you could hear all the heating and ventilating flaps moving back to the positions selected on the control knobs.

Thats a good lead as the vaccum box has just been replaced......

The pipe going to pollen filte vac box has gone on me before by rubbing itself on body of car.

Found the problem.

The pipe that went into the old vacc box was hanging off for god knows how long.  multiram system still sucking air through it eventually it gets completely blocked!

Just tried to suck air through it and nada, then tried compressed gas, nada.....needs a new one

Eternal seem to be the in choice at the moment for exhausts try googling them or look on the bay
